My name is Robert and my story starts after I graduated San Diego Job Corps in May of
2015. After I graduated I started to stay on the streets and use drugs like meth and weed. Then
2017 I started going to a weekly dinner party that was put on by a family and later to known as We
See You San Diego. The first time I went I just heard “free pizza” while I was skating, so I turned
around and went to the dinner. I continued to go every week . We See You is non profit faith
based organization that helps people that are experiencing homelessness and are addicted to
drugs and/ or alcohol. Every week at their dinner party, We See You gives an invitation to help for
anyone who is tired and wants to change their lives. On December 6, 2022, I accepted that
invitation and was brought to a program called Green Oaks Ranch in Vista CA and my road to
recovery began. I stayed at the program for 5 months, but I really wasn’t done using , so I decided
to leave. I went back to Green Oaks a month and a half later but ended up getting kicked out. On
August 6,  2023, I was brought to my second program called Restoration Ranch in Ramona CA. I
liked this program a lot more then I liked Green Oaks Ranch. I stayed at Restoration Ranch for 6
months and graduated. After my graduation, I moved to Virginia to reconnect with my sister and
meet my niece who I now talk to on a regular basis. After I moved back to San Diego on July 1,
2024, I almost landed back on the streets, but before that happened I decided to come back to
Restoration Ranch. I have been here for over a year now. I have family relationships restored, I
recently just got a full time job and I just got my driver’s license for the first time in my life. Today
my life is amazing and it’s all thanks to God, We See You, and all the staff at Restoration Ranch.
